Location: Birchmount (Markham)

The Enterprise Information Architect provides the technical leadership and direction in implementing enterprise information/data management, application architecture, and integration practices. Responsible for leading and engaging in information/data management projects including the Enterprise Information Architecture, information models and flows, data dictionaries, data standards, and data quality standards and processes with best integration practice. Responsible for developing and maintaining the logical Enterprise Information Architecture that enables seamless information inter-operability of systems from transaction systems, document management systems and information delivery systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Proven experience in developing information architectures aligned information lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience in building enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence using SAP data services.
  • Proven experience in enterprise integration practice (preferably with Mulesoft).
  • Proven experience performing conceptual, logical and physical data modeling with data modeling tools and database design in complex, large-scale data environments.
  • Proven experience in transactional data modeling, dimensional modeling and object oriented modeling. Proven experience in developing scalable design of entities using advanced data structures (e.g., tall tables) is a plus.
  • Experience in developing data models that support, inter alia, time dependency, historical tracings, taxonomies (simple and complex), and multilingual data.
  • Knowledge of application modeling languages/techniques (e.g., UML, OML, entity relationship modeling, DFDs) including the ability to create and read the associated diagrams.
  • Proven experience creating enterprise models incorporating master and reference data. Experience in creation of data dictionaries, defining metadata management approaches and governance processes.
  • Experience in developing and implementing IT architecture plans, Enterprise Information Architecture standard and guidelines, software development methodologies and strategic plans.
  • Experience in developing data sharing standards and architecting scalable service oriented solutions. Solid understanding of transaction and information systems, data warehouses, data marts, ODS, MDM methodologies and life cycle as well as ETL and MDM technologies.
  • Lead the enterprise information and integration strategy and platform (MDM, SOA, ETL, Data Virtualization, Data Governances, etc.) architectures.
  • Lead the team of Integration Product Architects to drive enterprise information and integration strategy and architecture deliverables.
  • Steward of Integration and Information standards and design patterns.
  • Identify, develop, and manage information and integration architecture patterns and reference architecture for the enterprise.
  • Drive adoption of Enterprise Cloud and Data Solutions to enable digital business.
  • Participate in architecture governance activities. (e.g. Architecture Review Board, Enterprise IT Controls)
  • Ensure consistency in architecture artifacts and deliverables for all Enterprise Architecture engagements.
  • Assist in the development and alignment of the IT roadmaps with the IT and Business strategy.

Qualifications:

  • A University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from a recognized University.
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills.
  • Strong solution design and facilitation skills. Able to facilitate the design process working collaboratively with cross functional teams.
  • Poise, maturity and communication skills necessary to represent the architecture group internally and externally. Strong presentation, verbal and written communications skills. Strong customer interface skills. Ability to engage in professional, courteous interpersonal communication with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to work with technical and business-oriented team(s). Excellent collaboration and teaming skills, effective time-management and multi-tasking skills, self-starter behavior.
  • Demonstrated mentoring and influencing skills
  • Must have experience with ALL SOA, MDM, Big Data, Messaging, Middleware technologies.
  • Develop technology roadmaps for information and integration technologies.
  • 3 to 5 of experience in implementing the data management platforms
  • Experience with API design, Data Modeling, and Microservices architecture.
  • Experience in reviewing technical merits of proposed architectures
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in complex integration and information solution design of which 5 years in Enterprise Data Architecture.
  • Experience with the preparation of solution architecture documents, architecture review board presentation material, high level design and implementation documents.
  • TOGAF, SOA certification or similar EA framework
