The Role:

As a Digital Marketing, Project Manager,  the role is responsible for coordinating  the successful completion of digital marketing based deliverables by leading the development project team to implement iterative software releases driven by the program. The role oversees the successful completion of design, development, integration, test and deployment activities. In addition, this role leads in the facilitation of internal/external communication between the development team and all stakeholders as well as ensure the development team adheres to established methodologies and processes. 

Collaboration is in the DNA of every Scotiabanker so it is important to build relationships quickly and rally around ideas that drive impact and enhance the customer experience.

Are you the right person for this role?

  • 5+ years of experience in leading and managing digital projects and corresponding teams
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Strong capabilities to identify and analyze business problems, facilitate discussion sessions, and deliver creative and effective solutions.
  • Ability to articulate ideas clearly using excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Question, understand and ensure the technical requirements are executable in the timeframes mentioned.
  • Participate in the organization and planning of the development schedule based on established team methodology to create a cohesive plan with identifiable critical path, task dependencies, and major milestones 
  • Manage iteration plans and schedules, ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, time, and quality parameters 
  • Work with and coordinate amongst various internal and external stakeholders
  • Adapt plans, schedules, and resource assignments as required throughout the software development cycles to respond to emerging requirements and risks 
  • Participate and support development pilots during the initial phases of all projects as required 
  • Organize and facilitate release planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, demos and other meetings as needed 
  • Track and communicate team velocity and progress to all relevant stakeholders on a consistent basis
  • Ensure the project team practices the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility 
  • Having experience/understanding of code such as HTML, CSS & JS in the past is an added benefit, but not a requirement
  • Recommend process improvements and assist in changes to best practice 
  • Engage with Product Owners, Marketing stakeholders and department management as necessary 
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information 
  • Identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver goals 
  • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution; empower the teams to self-organize; improve the productivity of the teams in any way possible 
  • Embrace the agile approach to delivering products and coach others on the value of rapid prototyping
  • Bring a unique perspective to problem-solving and actively participate in ‘solutioning’ sessions.
  • Test experiences for accessibility and inclusion. Understand these Canadian Digital Accessibility Laws and ensure all customer facing tools adhere to these guidelines.
