Postdoctoral Research Fellows (Fundamental and Translational Studies of Diabetic Dyslipidemia in Insulin Resistant State States)

Two postdoctoral/research associate positions are available in the clinical biochemistry/molecular medicine laboratory of Dr. Khosrow Adeli at the Research Institute, The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto. Anticipated start date is January 2017.

Here's What You Get to Do:

  • Conduct research into physiological and molecular mechanisms controlling intestinal and hepatic lipid metabolism and their dysregulation in diabetic/insulin resistant states such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, and type 2 diabetes
    • Research will address questions linked to neuroendocrine regulation of dietary fat absorption and the role of the gut-brain-liver axis in controlling lipid metabolism in metabolic health and disease.
  • Work closely with Dr Adeli and a research team of experienced research technologists and senior graduate students, and will be involved in collaborative work with research laboratories at the SickKids Research Institute and the University of Toronto, as well as with national and international collaborators.

Here's What You Need:

  • The candidate must have a PhD, preferably in physiology, Biochemistry, or Nutrition; preference will be given to those with experience with whole body/intestinal physiology and mechanistic studies using animal models of human disease.
  • Demonstrated contributions relating to human/animal physiology, metabolic disease, and related fields¬†

Employment Type: Full Time, 1 year (possibility of reknewal to 2 years)
