As a Security enthusiast with our TELUS Health team, you will assist in the development and execution of information security programs, policies and guidelines that safe-guard TELUS managed services customers. If you have good application security or static code analysis experience, this is your opportunity to learn and practice your craft with some of the best!

Based in our Thornhill office, you will:
  • Execute TELUS Security Operations programs and services
  • Conduct technical security assessments utilizing security assessment tools
  • Conduct technical vulnerability scans reviewing and categorizing results by risk
  • Implement the delivery of the security project plan with internal and external customers
Required Knowledge & Abilities:
  • Applications used for reviewing, report creation and escalation of vulnerabilities and technology issues:
    • Infrastructure (automated & manual) scans
    • Web application scans
    • Penetration test scans
  • Threat intelligence:
    • Ability to apply relevance, from numerous alert sources for the analysis, qualification and escalation of potential software/application vulnerabilities
    • Ability to monitor and analyze industry threats and global anomalies that impact TELUS customers
  • SIEM related technologies and experience with:
    • Real time monitoring of system event data for potential malicious activity
    • Review and escalation of threat and vulnerability alerts
    • Review correlated events, review and report generation from logging devices
  • Devices related to network security, including IDS & UTM (Unified Threat Management) technology:
    • Ability to review alerts for IDS/IPS, anti-virus, web content filtering
    • Understanding of network traffic flows and security monitoring practices
    • Ability to create and deploy protection profiles
    • Experience with review and report generation from logging devices
  • Security incident response:
    • Experience being participant as first responder for internal and external operations teams in the response, assessment and containment of escalated technological alerts
    • Ability to work rotational on-call schedule
  • Wireless security:
    • Experience with use of software for scanning and detection of rogue access points
    • Qualification of results and report generation
  • Ability to integrate into the following programs:
    • Assist with Vulnerability Management Program for internal and external operations teams in the prioritization and remediation of identified security risks
    • Research and present alternative security solutions that reduce or eliminate identified risks to overcome business challenges
    • Assist in the development, execution and enforcement of technological and procedural Information Security policies
Required Experience, Clearance & Education:
  • 2-4 years of direct experience in an information security role
  • Able to obtain Canada PWGSC Clearance (MUST HAVE)
  • College or university degree in related field

Desired Qualifications:

  • CISSP or SANS GIAC security certification
  • ITIL knowledge or certification
  • Experience with Managed Security Services, Payment Card Industry (PCI)
