A research technologist is needed in a biomedical research laboratory and core facility. This is a 1 year contract position available immediately, with the possibility of long-term renewal.

Here's What You'll Get To Do:

Primary duties will include operation, maintenance and quality control of mass cytometry Helios instruments as well as method development and data analysis using CytoBank, FlowJo and other custom software packages.

Additional responsibilities include: fostering relationships with clients and collaborators; instrument troubleshooting; helping maintain safe practices within the lab; assessing new and alternative cytometry techniques; and ensuring data is sufficiently backed up. 

Here's What You'll Need:

Applicants should have a M.Sc. degree in immunology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, cancer or cell biology with 2 years relevant experience in flow, mass cytometry or mass spectrometry.

Applicants must have demonstrated organizational and communication skills, computer proficiency (databases, www, graphics), as well as self-motivation and commitment.

  • MSc with at least 2 years experience with either flow cytometry applications and related software (FlowJo or CytoBank) or mass spectrometry.
  • Experience operating a flow or mass cytometer.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and a demanding schedule. 
  • Ability to work within a busy biomedical research setting with tight deadlines.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. 

Employment Type: Temporary, Full-Time (one year contract)
