Reporting to the Supervisor, Service, the Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyperson maintains, repairs, and rebuilds heavy construction and mining equipment at the Gahcho Kue Branch site in a safe, efficient, and capable manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Make recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement
• Repair the equipment in a timely and financially responsible manner
• Think logically and keep up with changes in technology
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals
• Employ workplace health and safety practices at all times
• Be motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision


The successful candidate will possess a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification or Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Off-Road certificate. Other requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Experience in repair/maintenance of heavy construction and mining equipment
• Experience with Komatsu Equipment is considered an asset
• Strong commitment to safety
• Effective written and verbal communication skills 

This position will work a 14 day on 14 day off, 12 hour per day shift rotation based out of our Gahcho Kue Branch located 280km northeast of Yellowknife, NWT. Flights to site marshal out of Calgary, AB. Successful candidates will be required to work in a remote camp setting on site for the duration of their shift schedule.
